Spotify is making it easier to mute R. Kelly — or anyone, really — by rolling out a new feature designed to let you block artists from playing.
The new ‘mute’ feature will block a particular artist from automatically playing in personal and curated playlists as well as charts, radio or a user’s personal library.
To use the feature, all you have to do is to click the “Don’t play this artist” button located in the menu area for every artist. If you change your mind, you can go back to the same place and hit “Remove.”
Now, it won’t hide the artist from your account — it just won’t play any of the artist’s music unless you manually do so.
Interestingly, the feature comes during the resurgence of the #MuteRKelly movement brought on by the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ documentary.
